Lower Alloways Creek Township is located in the Southwest corner of Salem County and is made up of 72.6 square miles with approximately 2,000 residents who reside in the town. The Township is also home to the PSEG Nuclear Facility which is the second largest Nuclear Power Plant in the United States. Lower Alloways Creek Township borders Elsinboro Township, Salem City, Quinton Township, Stow Creek, and the Delaware Bay.  Elsinboro Township is also located in the Southwest corner of Salem County and is made up of 12.3 square miles with approximately 1,200 residents who reside in the town. Through a Joint agreement, the Lower Alloways Creek Township Police Department Patrols both Lower Alloways Creek Township and Elsinboro Township totaling 84.9 square miles of coverage.

Today’s Police Department is comprised of 13 Sworn Officers and civilian personnel including the Chief of Police. The organizational structure is extensively specialized and diverse, offering the public a wide range of services by personnel that possess a great deal of technical expertise. 

While dedication and devotion to duty has always been an unwavering trademark of the Lower Alloways Creek Police Department since its beginning in 1972, the department has undergone tremendous change throughout its history.

The Lower Alloways Creek Police Department is staffed by highly skilled and talented professionals. The fundamental mission, to protect and serve, remains the same, however, the manner in which this mission is achieved has and will continue to change. Preserving the peace and public safety is a promise that still is, and always will be the ultimate priority of the Lower Alloways Creek Police Department.
